You are more than a better person

Posted by rubberband on January 25, 2008

I woke up late today. 7.50 am. I did not woke up by myself. Yoppo jumped out of bed (so I woke up) and he looked at me for few seconds before he told me it was 7.50 am. In that few seconds, I really feel bad because I was the one who turned off the alarm at 6.45 am. I always insist to have the alarm beside me and so when it rings, it wakes me first. I want to let him sleep longer. :)

I guess I was fatigue till i forgotten that the alarm rang before. I have been tired from the beginning of week. Work is a little hectic. The system is more tougher than the three other systems from prior companies that I worked for. When I get home, I helped Yoppo in preparing dinner… just a little tough. ^.^

Then I got to get myself into the dreadful markings. (Yea, I still marking for *** accounting papers.) Because it has to be due on next Tues, and this time it comes in bulk, I had to spend more time in marking all these papers.

Okie…back to the overslept-related story. I feel really bad of waking that late because no matter how late I woke up (it has to before 10am lar…), I will not be late to work as office only requires us to be there at core hours, which is from 10 am – 3pm. You can make it up those missed working hours within the day/week. But things are different for Yoppo. He has to send me to work, park his car at Anthony’s garage and he has to travel to city for work by train. Moreover, his office hours is not so flexi.

In the car today I apologized. And…this is not the first time I woke up late. It is the second time in a week. Haha. I can’t help it. Later, I asked if he got angry with me.

“No. What for I angry with you? Angry with you wouldn’t help. And I know you must be tired.”, He said.

At that moment, I positioned myself as him and I thought that if I were him, I would certainly get upset. I am pretty sure with my pattern already. I am sure I will come to the level (jing4 jie4) where I really show sulky face, sigh and complain.

Then I told him about my thoughts. He smiled and he said,”Oh, then I become a better person liao.” I thought…that’s very cute and patience of him. Patience, I am lacking very much of it but he has it all.

Cute couple

Posted by rubberband on January 20, 2008

We recently been going out with Anthony from Singapore and Hiroko from Japan. They are couples. Hear them communicating is a pleasure, really. Hiroko, this cute lady came all the way from Japan to study Japanese and English. Not ridiculous actually, because she is becoming a very pro translator and I think her English is good. (Much much better than I do, I would say) Hiroko rectifies Anthony’s pronunciations, grammar mistakes and tones most of the times. She said it’s rather hard to understand Sing-lish or Malay-English, which these two happen to be quite the same.

So here’s the story.

Oh…before I forget, Hiroko is a very *geng* mahjong player. They came to our place to play mahjong yesterday, and guess what. This japanese girl won over us!

Okie back to the story. Yoppo and I spent our Saturday with this cute couple, from noon till midnight. Mahjong for the entire afternoon, watched Australian Open together (We are Roger Federer’s supporters. Good that he won the match), dinner and late night yum-cha.

We talked about spicy food in our yum-cha session. So then this Anthony said:” When I eat curry, I cannot one. I am like shower like that.”

Okie. This is very understandable to me. Not just me, but us including Carrie. We know he meant that he couldn’t consume spicy foods. When he eats spicy food, he starts to sweat.

Hiroko looked pretty blurred. Then she asked,”How could you eat curry while showering?”

That’s one we thought it is funny. Hiroko also mentioned that Anthony always says,”Later rubbish throw away can?”, which she doesn’t get it. She reckoned the sentence has no subject in it and so she doesn’t know Anthony was asking her help to throw away the rubbish.

After all the laughs and rectifies, Anthony still speaks in Sing-lish and he is proud of it. I am proud of that language too because it is something familiar to me.

Juicer

Posted by rubberband on January 15, 2008

Mom bought me a juicer before she went back to Malaysia. So with the new juicer, Yoppo and I have fully utilized it to make drinks that we never did before.

We can now make banana milkshake, kiwi juice, iced coffee, milo shake, ice-blended chocolate, strawberry lassi, vanilla milkshake, apple mango smoothie and orange mango smoothie. Next time when you come visit me, pick and order one ya? I am always at your service. :)

Welcome to the family

Posted by rubberband on January 13, 2008

I remember on my engagement day, Yoppo’s mom gave me an embrace and later she said, “Welcome to our family, Charlene”. A simple sentence like this brings me strengthy affirmation.

My brother and my sister-in-law got engaged on 11.01.2008. I feel sorry that I can’t be there for them. Next time in the near future, when I have chance to meet my sister-in-law, sincerely I want to say, (though I might not have the authority) “Mei Eng, Welcome to our family. It will be merrier and fun to have you with us. Also, thanks for joining us.”

Hmmm….or I might say this on the phone later or I say it when I see her or I will get my parents to say it. ^.^

Besides welcoming Mei Eng – my sister-in-law, I also want to welcome Catalina Andrea from Chile. She is a cute kid. :)

Go go go!

Posted by rubberband on January 4, 2008

Over the last three months, I traveled two buses and had a distance walk to work. This journey always takes me 1.5 hours. I used to think that it is difficult to travel to work. But yesterday, on my last day work at Event Zero, I felt that distance was okay. It is ridiculous. I even spent most concentration on scenery when I traveled back home. I know sometime in the future, I might not be taking this bus for maybe quite a while or ever.

My new job at Jeppesen, Toowong is starting on next monday. This time around, instead of traveling work to zone 4, I am traveling to only zone 2.

It will be another brand new experience. Promise me Charlene. If there are discomforts/hardships in the middle of the expedition, you must keep yourself motivated and keep going. Also remember that discomfort is the beginning of a new skill.  Jia You Charlene. *Embrace myself* and I love you always.
